Would you get an adjustable bed?
Have you ever watched one of those adjustable bed mattress commercials and felt funny because you thought they looked cool but were only for someone with back or hip problems? Well, the stigma is going away, these beds are great for everyone. Sure there are benefits for those who have trouble getting in and out of bed (who doesn’t?) but they’re also great for young adults who just want the convenience of a customizable bed you can easily eat, read, watch TV and sleep in… it’s like having a couch, chair and bed all in one!
I think this type of bed feels pretty good and with many having independent sides you and your partner can sleep with your heads at different levels. I have occasional acid reflux and being able to sleep with my head slightly elevated is a big help.
They are motorized and you can get very quiet motors so the kids down the hall won’t hear you moving your bed around. They also have wired or wireless hand controls for easy access to bed positions. They even have massaging options! That is reason enough for me; a full upper and lower massage from my bed means I may never leave it.
If you’re in the market for a new bed, you don’t have to write off this style just because of the old stigma. Get the bed you want and need. Get something you can afford and has the features you want. At least do the research before making any snap judgments. The price may be out of your range, but that will depend entirely on the features you get.
